The teachers of the Language Training Department of KNURE took part in the International Scientific and Practical Seminar on “The latest pedagogical technologies in teaching foreign languages” which was held at Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University.
The program of the seminar presented linguistic, sociolinguistic and linguocultural aspects of teaching Ukrainian and Russian as foreign languages using innovative computer technologies and Internet resources as well as methodological innovations in teaching languages.

THE PANCAKE WEEK (MASNITSA) AT THE DEPARTMENT

Foreigners who come to study to our country not only get an education, but also get to know about the culture and history of Ukraine. Christmas and New Year were the first holidays that the students of the Preparatory Department of KNURE learned about. In March, teachers of the Language Training Department told about one of the oldest Ukrainian holidays – Masnitsa (Shrovetide). The listeners learned about the traditions of its celebration, folk festivals accompanying this holiday and its symbols – pancakes and dumplings. The teachers shared the recipes and little tricks of their cooking and of course treated the guys to homemade pancakes and gave them souvenirs.
At the end of the week, the foreign listeners plunged into the unforgettable atmosphere of folk festivities in the Central Park for Recreation and Leisure.

EXCURSION TO THE MUSEUM OF KNURE

In order to feel like a part of a whole, feel the University of Radio Electronics truly “yours”, it is important not only to attend classes, but also take an active part in the life of the university and of course know its history. It is known that without the past you cannot understand the present, that’s why a group of foreign students of the Preparatory Department decided to go to the Museum of History of KNURE.
The listeners saw over a part of the exposition dedicated to the development of a unique highly sensitive complex of space equipment MARS by KNURE scientists. They were surprised to learn that a minor planet 10681 KTURE was named after our university.
