We join Ukrainian holidays and traditions
Studying at the university is not only daily routine in the classroom, but also getting to know new people, places, as well as Ukrainian holidays and traditions.
On the 14th of October, Ukraine celebrates three holidays at once: Ukraine Defender’s Day, The Ukrainian Cossacks Day and The Protection of the Holy Virgin Day.
The teachers of the Language Training Department conducted a thematic lesson: “Love Ukraine”, where foreign listeners got acquainted with the history of these holidays. The students learned with great interest that the Holy Mother is considered to be the patron saint of the Ukrainian Cossacks – the defenders of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. That is why Ukraine Defender’s Day began to be celebrated on this day. Foreign listeners with great interest watched photographs and a documentary about the history of Kharkiv and Ukraine.
